About Me
(August 2007; edited November 2007) I've been in and around SF fandom since the mid-70s. I started with written SF and comic books, slowly added media fandoms, took a sidetrip through the wonderful world of AD&D, and ended up online around the turn of the century (I just *had* to use that phrase) where I'm not-quite a lurker. Currently, I live in the Greater Chicagoland Theme Park (of which I am a native) and am owned by one cat. (Written whilst procrastinating from packing for Vivid Con.)

My Fanfic Preferences (or My Fanfic Philosophy?!)
Long plotty, character-driven stories featuring my OTC and/or OTP. Romance and relationship over smut and PWP. Mostly slash and gen with a little het on the side. Gen team fic is of the good. Very multi-fannish with a love of crossovers, future fic and AUs (and ARs). Not so big on pre-canon. Canon is where we start. Fanon is where fandom fills in the cracks and gaps with what maybe should be canon but (for whatever reasons) isn't. Everybody sees and interprets canon through their own filters, everybody sees UST in different places; if we/fandom would all just accept that and get over the whole My View is The One True Interpretation bs, fandom would be a much happier and more peaceful place.
