Summary info

2005 WB television series premised on two brothers Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) Winchester, who traverse the United States in a '67 Chevy Impala pursuing demons and ghosties and werewolves (oh my!) as part of the "family business".

Series Premise: 22 years prior to the series pilot, something supernatural killed Mary Winchester by slashing her stomach open and pinning her to the ceiling of then infant Sam's nursery. John Winchester saw his wife in the unholy attack and managed to get his Sam and his older son, Dean, out of the house. Sure of what he saw, John began researching and hunting for what had killed his wife, and the boys grew up learning to hunt and fight all kinds of paranormal and supernatural creatures. At 18, Sam decided he'd had enough and accepted a 4-year, full scholarship to Stanford University, breaking with his father and brother.

Just before Sam graduates from college and is preparing to go to law school, Dean shows up, to tell him their father has disappeared and asks for Sam's help. Sam goes reluctantly. They do not find their father but on their return, Sam's girlfriend Jessica is killed in the same manner as their mother had been so many years before and the hunt starts all over again as the brothers search for their missing father, for what killed Mary and Jessica, and running into a few other poltergeists and urban legends on the way
